Describe yourself and your project in a few words.

My project is Projet Azur Alpes : I am riding along the French Alps, from Annecy to Menton, - to the Mediterranean Sea - in order to raise awareness on the water cycle, the air and water quality. On my slow motion trip I stop in many cities organising meetings with childrens and adults about water and air quality. I am 25 years old, and it is my 2nd year with Projet Azur.

What drives you to live this kind of life ?

I am really involved in environmental issues, and I am passionate about sports : outdoor sports, riding by bike, sailing but also the sea and water sports in general. So, I am mixing my passion, my talent and my will to do that kind of project and to live that kind of life. It is kind of a sacrifice but not that much because I love that. I decided to do it because we have a big climate crisis, so it is my way to use my practical knowledge to influence people to act according to what they love; it could be about mountains, it could be about the sea, it could be sciences, or even art. The objective is to combine many fields to raise awareness and to make people act, citizens, but also in order to try to understand economics and political fields.

What do you think about the way we live in the world ?

Of course, I should talk about the very simple way of life we have in an adventure. Right now, I am on my Alps adventure, I am living with a few kilos : a few t-shirts, a few underwear; the minimum of things. I don’t need anything else because I am spending my time in nature with people, trying to go from one mountain to the other. It is a very slow life but at the same time a very quick experience where I learn so much by being outside. That’s why I think that the way we live on this planet is way too fast.

We live as consumers but we don’t think of how to renew resources. We don’t live with resources but with goods, and we should think the other way around.

How would you describe success or happiness ?

Success would be a moment when you had an objective and you reached it. If you reach this objective then it is a success. But the objective can be very accessible like to learn something new, or to make your first chocolate cake, and it is combined with the principles of adventure at least. And happiness is very connected to it, and I think someone can be happy whenever he has good health, food, drink and can enjoy things he likes. But we really have to connect with simple happiness.

What are your future plans ?

Continue to make positive adventures which are sharing a positive message and which allow people to involve themselves in it to learn a bit more, to be conscious about their environment and their planet. Actually, while talking about the environment, I just listened to this really interesting podcast called Le camp de base, interviewing Raphael Lachello, which says :

“Environment at the opposite of ecology is the history of the relationship between society and ecosystems”.

And I think this is really important because we really need to put humans back at the heart of ecosystems. We are part of the environment, and to protect this environment, the ecosystems and the ecology, equality is needed ; territorial equality, gender equality, economics and social equality. That is why, protecting the environment is about protecting the relationship between humans and ecosystems.

Which message would you like to spread on this planet ?

Be passionate, take action, every little - and big - thing counts.

Be in the present moment, in a respectful way.
